Staff Profile: Gillian Dunne

Gillian Dunne

Year 1 Class Teacher (1GD)

Gillian graduated from University College Dublin with BA Honours in History and Irish Folklore and completed a PGDE in Primary Teaching at the University of Strathclyde.

Gillian has five years teaching experience and is excited to be starting her sixth at Dover Court. Originally from Ireland, Gillian moved to the U.K. and completed a PGDE in Primary Teaching at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

During her time in Glasgow, Gillian taught Year 1, Year 3 and Year 4, as well as coordinating a number of after school clubs including hockey, running and choir. Gillian also trained as a Children’s University Validator, an organisation that celebrates and rewards children’s achievements outside of school, and she successfully led the youngest group of children in Glasgow to graduate.

Seeking an exciting new challenge, Gillian came to Singapore and Dover Court last year. She has thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities this move has provided so far in terms of furthering her career, broadening her experiences and growing as a teacher.

In her free time, Gillian loves keeping fit and being outdoors. She loves reading and socialising with family and friends to relax. Gillian is passionate about travel and visits new places at every available opportunity.
