Staff Profile: Gillian Dunne

Gillian Dunne

Year 1 Class Teacher (1GD) and Year Group Leader

Gillian graduated from University College Dublin with BA Honours in History and Irish Folklore and completed a PGDE in Primary Teaching at the University of Strathclyde.

Originally from Ireland, Gillian moved to the U.K. where she completed her teacher training qualification and began her teaching career.

During her time in Glasgow, Gillian taught Year 1, Year 3 and Year 4, as well as coordinating a number of after school clubs including hockey, running and choir. Gillian also trained as a Children’s University Validator, an organisation that celebrates and rewards children’s achievements outside of school.

Gillian is delighted to be working at DCIS.  She has thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities this move has provided so far in terms of furthering her career and broadening her experiences. Gillian is Year Group Leader for Year 1 and is greatly looking forward to leading the Year 1 team.

In her free time, Gillian loves reading, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Gillian is passionate about travel and visits new places at every available opportunity.
