Melissa McWilliams

Year 1 Class Teacher, 1MM and Year Group Leader (Full Time)

Melissa graduated with a degree in Sports Management from Bournemouth University.

After completing her degree, Melissa volunteered abroad, working in a Primary School in Uganda. This experience led her to study for a PGCE, specialising in Early Years Education.

Melissa’s first teaching post was in a First School in Bournemouth where she taught for four years in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. She gained a wealth of experience during her first years of teaching, becoming PE leader and gaining a National Professional Qualification in Middle Leadership. She is excited to be leading the Year 1 team.

Melissa is passionate about teaching young children and enjoys the challenge of supporting them to learn new skills. She believes in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for the children in order for them to develop their independence as life-long learners. Melissa is motivated by the progress the children make both academically and socially. She enjoys the enthusiasm and energy that the children bring to the classroom.

Melissa has always had a passion for travel so decided to further her career and experience by teaching at Dover Court. She enjoys exploring Singapore and the surrounding areas. In her spare time she enjoys being active and playing netball.
