Staff Profile: Andrew Tallett

Andy Tallett

Computing and ICT Teacher

Andrew gained his teaching qualifications at the University of Exeter, England. He completed a BA (Hons) degree in Education Studies and a Primary PGCE with Maths specialism.

Since qualifying in 2007, Andrew has gained a wealth of experience teaching at large primary schools in Cheltenham and South Devon. During his career he has held several subject coordinator roles and been on the senior leadership team.

He led Computing at his previous school where he developed pupils’ computing skills; educated children (and parents) about online-safety; and integrated technology across the curriculum. He aims to foster a love for computer science as he thinks the skills gained will be critical in the world that our pupils will be growing up in.

Andrew admits he is a techie and his preferred subjects at school were Maths, Science and Technology. He is passionate about the future of education and aspires to provide children with skills to succeed in jobs that do not even exist yet. He hopes to inspire ambitious, creative and adaptable learners who will go on to make an impact in the world.

In his free time, Andrew likes to get out and explore his surroundings, whether that be by bicycle, on foot, or by kayak. Wherever he is exploring, chances are he will have his camera with him as he is a keen photographer. He’s looking to combine these interests as he explores more of Asia’s many sights and varied cultures.
