While working for the Chicago Public Schools as a special needs educator, he continued adding to his practicum with postgraduate diplomas in Professional Counselling, Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Child and Adolescent Psychology.
Greg’s work with autistic children and adults, as an animal-assisted therapist, was getting recognized and a group in China invited him to move to the Guangdong Province and begin work opening centres around China. He has remained a strong advocate for those with autism and was recently certified as an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS).
During his time in China, he also established a successful private practice as a counsellor/psychotherapist, education consultant, and a Fortune 100 corporate coach. Greg has been fortunate to have maintained many of the therapeutic relationships he developed, and still provides therapy sessions for clients from around the world.
A couple of recent highlights, in addition to his ASDCS certification, have been his acceptance into the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) and the completion of his Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training. Years spent developing his therapeutic toolbox while becoming a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, has led to his advocacy for us all to be “Trauma-Informed.”
Other professional memberships and affiliations he belongs to are the American School Counsellor Association (ASCA), The American Psychological Association (APA), the American Counselling Association (ACA) and the Association of Child and Adolescent Counselling (ACAC).
Greg is devoted to helping people help themselves. He loves dogs, playing guitar, sharing eclectic ethnic cooking experiences with his beloved wife, travelling, and laughing with good friends.
With their newly established love for Singapore, Greg and his wife are looking forward to many years here.
