After graduating, Kate pursued her love of travelling and spent five months in Asia, before moving to Sheffield to begin her teaching career. Here she spent three years teaching Year 4 and Year 5. She was computing curriculum lead and online safety coordinator for her school, and as well as this she also started a netball team.
In school, Kate believes that children learn best when they feel safe, happy and inspired by their learning, and she strives to create this atmosphere in her classroom every day. Kate treats each child as an individual, supporting or challenging them where necessary and providing each and every one of them with the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Kate has a love of sports which started during her school days, where she was captain of both the tennis and rounders teams. This continued during university, where she captained the Women’s University Squash team and represented her college for netball. When she is not in the classroom, Kate enjoys playing sports and spending time with her family and friends. She also loves having cuddles with her two ragdoll cats!
