On Saturday 15 June DCIS families gathered to enjoy a range of sports with friends and family at the Dover Court Association's (DCA) Family Sports Day. We even had fathers and sons competing against each other in our first ever aquathon. The football pitch and netball court were busy all afternoon. It was truly an A to Z of sports on offer, from Archery to Zumba. Even the youngest could give it a go with multi-sport for 2 to 7 year olds and gymnastics was as popular as ever. Parents and children enjoyed tennis while some kids learned new karate skills. It was great to see so many families enjoying themselves and how happy children were to be at school on a Saturday!
We couldn't have done it without all the volunteers who helped out on the day and behind the scenes. Ms Good kindly gave a lot of time to organise our first ever aquathon and there were some very serious competitors! The DCA also greatly appreciates the sports generously provided by Sport4Kids, The Yard and Chelsea Football Club. Coffee and sustenance were available from DCIS Café, that was open on the day. There was a wonderful atmosphere all afternoon, which couldn't have happened without the school and its staff providing support and such well run facilities.
See you all there again next year!
