We are launching ABRSM at BIS Hanoi!

Today was a very exciting, informative and inspiring day in the Performing Arts Department. We had two visitors from the ABRSM (The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) team to work with and train our instrumental teachers at BIS Hanoi. From the moment our students start their instrumental lessons this year, they will be following the ABRSM syllabus which not only pushes the students development, help to create well rounded musicians and train the students to become highly accomplished musicians, it also provides certificates and qualifications which can be used towards University entries.

ABRSM launched in 1889 and its qualifications are recognized in 93 countries across the world. Students will have the opportunity every year to take a graded exam, where they will then be awarded with hand-written feedback from their examiner, breakdown of marks and a certificate of either pass, merit, distinction. Students who achieve a distinction, will be eligible to participate in the annual ‘High Scholars Concert’. Both the syllabus material and examiners will be flown into Hanoi from the UK. The grading system ranges from Grade 1 – Grade 8 and then on to diploma; the grades can be transferred into UCAS points to support University Applications.

I would like to personally invite you to a coffee morning on Wednesday 13th of September, 11 am – 12pm to share more information with you about this fantastic opportunity. It would be a lovely session where I will talk you through what ABRSM actually is, why it’s important and its benefits. If you have any questions, there will be time to discuss these during the morning; if you are hoping for your child to start instrumental lessons, this would be the perfect occasion for you to attend. There will also be refreshments there to enjoy after!

In the meantime, you can find out more by watching this video:

I look forward to welcoming you all on the 13th of September! More details to follow!
