Ian joined BIS in 2016 with over 10 years’ experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs. He began his career working with ASD students in a small special school in Vancouver, Canada. Very swiftly he was promoted to the role of Head of Department at a Vancouver independent school, running their newly formed SEN program. After six enjoyable years developing that department, Ian moved to London, UK, where he was appointed as an SEN Coordinator at NWLIS: a school specializing in supporting BESD and ASD students. Following this Ian was appointed to work as part of a School Improvement Team, supporting other SEN schools. In 2014 Ian was appointed as Head of Learning Support at Garden International School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Like most Canadians, Ian is an accomplished Ice Hockey player and Curler. He is passionate about traveling and learning about other cultures and traditions.
