Staff Profile: Rachael Lowry

Whole school Equality Champion/ History Teacher

BA (Hons)  History, University of Manchester

PGCE History, Institute of Education, University of London

Rachael returned to  BIS HCMC in 2017 as Head of History after having previously worked at An Phu Secondary Campus between 2009 and 2012. Between these dates, Rachael worked at St. Paul's School in Brazil, and Bermuda High School for Girls as Head of Year 9. She specialises in the teaching of IGCSE and the IB in schools with an international student body. Her historical interest is in the teaching of Twentieth Century History of the USA and Europe. In the classroom, she enjoys using music, drama and group work. Outside of the classroom, her interests include running, crossfit, dodgeball and choir, as well as spending time outdoors with her family and two dogs, who have accompanied her around the world. She also loves watching movies, but only if they are in 3D or 4D.
