Sarah joined BIS in August 2019 following three years teaching at a Nord Anglia Education school in Washington DC where she was subject lead for History. Prior to making the move to international teaching, she worked at a boys' grammar school in Watford, England, for four years. Whilst here Sarah was appointed to a Specialist Leader in Education post by a Teaching School Alliance in 2014 to raise academic standards across a group of schools. Sarah has taught across Key Stages Three to Five and also taken leadership responsibilities as Assistant Head of History Department and KS4 co-ordinator leading to a national accolade for her then school. Sarah believes in lifelong learning and has successfully completed the NAE Middle Leadership Programme with a focus on developing growth mindset in her students, she is also currently finishing a Masters level study with an MA programme in History Education, due to complete Autumn 2019. Beyond the classroom her interests include travel, food, outdoor activities, music, sport, culture and socialising with friends.
