Staff Profile: Sophie Brunson

Sophie Brunson - History Teacher | BIS HCMC

History Teacher

BA (Hons) History, Bolton University, Lancashire, UK

PGCE – Secondary Education (History), University of the West of England, Bristol, UK

Sophie joined BIS in August 2019 to cover maternity leave. Sophie qualified as a teacher in the UK in 2001 and has taught in the UK, Belgium, China and Egypt. She has been Head of History in schools that have taught Cambridge IGCSE and A Level courses and the IB Diploma Programme. Sophie has a particular interest in European history and has taken responsibility for students participating in the National History Day competition when she worked in China. Sophie enjoys sea kayaking and dragon boating, travelling and promoting sustainable living.
