Staff Profile: Tao Zhang

Tao Zhang - Head of Chinese | BIS HCMC

Head of Chinese

Teacher’s Qualification Certificate, Ministry of Education, China 

Tao Zhang joined BIS HCMC as the Head of Chinese Department in 2019. Over the past 14 years, he has taught Mandarin in China, the USA, and South Korea. Most recently, he taught at the American Embassy School in New Delhi, India. 

Wherever he goes, Tao enjoys cultural exchanges and sharing his Chinese traditions with others, this alongside his passion for learning led to his Masters level study in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. He encourages his students to be global citizens and their best versions of themselves. In order to expand students’ horizons, Tao creates opportunities for students to engage in the Chinese language and culture both inside and outside of the classroom.

In his free time, Tao loves cooking international cuisine, reading books and playing badminton.
