Staff Profile: Ryan Anderson

Ryan Anderson

Head of Physics

Masters in Chemical Engineering, University of Cambridge, UK

PGCE in Secondary Science, University of Exeter, UK

Ryan attended school in South Africa moving to England in 1999 to complete his GCSEs. He went on to study Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge specializing in Chemical Engineering before qualifying as a Physics specialist teacher in 2012. He began his teaching career at the Caterham School, Surrey, UK where he taught until 2016 when he moved to his first overseas post in China. He joined BIS in August 2018 after successfully leading the Physics Department at Malvern College, Qingdao.

Ryan has a keen interest in all forms of technology, as well as amateur astronomy. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys playing hockey, cricket and golf but also avidly follows a number of other sports including rugby, motor racing and American football.
