This year, each age group had to create stories under different themes:
Participants were given a maximum word count of just 500 words to tell their story.
Fan-fiction is a style of writing that is proving very popular as it involves taking something like a book, a TV show, or a film that you already enjoy and making more of it! It is a great way to develop an interest in writing because a lot of the initial work, like characters and setting has been done for you, and you just need to make it your own. Find tips on how to get started with fan-fiction here.
At British International School, HCMC, we are extremely proud to announce that we have 3 students whose stories were shortlisted and their entries will be published in this year’s Creative Writing and Visual Arts anthology. Congratulations to Katie, Raghav, and Angelina for being recognised for their hard work and creativity.
Raghav Dwivedi, a Year 6 student at An Phu Primary, was also deservedly named Junior Writer of the Year for his entire age group.
