Mock Examinations & Year 11 freedom of movement

18 December 2015

Dear Parents of Year 11 students,

Mock examinations begin for Year 11 on Thursday January 7th 2016. These examinations give both students and teachers the opportunity to identify areas of good progress and areas for improvement in the run-up to the final external examinations in the summer.

Exam sessions begin at 08.30 and at 14.00 every afternoon. Students must be outside the exam hall at  08.20 and 13.50 . They will not be given any extra time if they arrive late. Every student will have been informed of exam procedure and rules.

Year 11 students will be allowed freedom of movement during the examination period in order to study for exams at home.  However, to be eligible for this they MUST hand in the slip below.  This must be signed by parents to verify that you give permission for your child to leave school at times when they do not have an examination.

Please print and sign the slip below and ask your child to hand the letter in to Mrs Miazga in the Secondary School office (room 113) on or before Thursday 7th January.

Students with parental permission may arrive at school in time for the later starting examination session if there is no morning exam for them. All year 11 students who have a morning examination at 08.30, then an afternoon examination at 14.00 will be expected to remain on school premises all day.  Students will not be able to leave the school grounds without written parental consent.

Kind regards,

Mrs Fox
Head of Secondary School
