Where are you from originally?
Dublin, Ireland.
Have you lived in any other countries?
No, I’ve always been a home bird. I came to Poland with my Polish husband. Now that I’m here I’m glad we made the move.
Where and what did you study for your education?
I have a degree in Natural Science and a PhD in Botany from Trinity College Dublin, and I have a Masters in Library and Information Studies from University College Dublin.
How long have you been at TBS?
Two and a half months.
What do you enjoy most about working at our school?
The friendliness of staff and general cheerful atmosphere.
What are you most looking forward to in the 2018/2019 academic year?
We are going to launch our Senior Library blog soon, which will be a place to read about what’s in the library as well as book reviews by students, parents and staff. I’m looking forward to promoting the library collection and reading everyone’s contributions.
Whose your favourite historian/scientist/literary figure and why?
I’m a fan of the American writer Jean Webster because her writing is brilliant and funny. She’s best known for the novels Daddy-Long-Legs and Dear Enemy.
What is your favourite thing about living in Warsaw, Poland?
The area where I live - Żoliborz. It’s a lovely part of the city, with plenty of nice parks, cafes and restaurants, and it’s not far from the city centre.
Any recommendations for books for students and/or parents?
We have a whole new batch of books which will be available in the next few weeks and will be on our English Reading lists. I will be writing more about these in up-coming blog posts!
