Early Years Foundation Stage

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is where a lifetime of learning begins. Our Early Years practitioners will do all that they can to give your child the best possible start in school life and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Our Early Years provision enables your child to develop their personality, talents and abilities. We help them to develop a strong sense of self, feel positive about their abilities as a learner, form constructive relationships and become confident communicators.

We follow the EYFS framework, which is statutory in the UK for all Ofsted registered child care settings. This curriculum is full of real-life concrete experiences and is divided into seven areas:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding of the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

The Early Years Foundation Stage is our Kindergarten and includes our Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception classes.

Active Learning

The Early Years Centre of Excellence in Warsaw is designed to provide a happy and purposeful introduction to school life. We emphasise active learning through play, allowing children to develop at their own pace and explore their potential.

Our teachers and assistants create an environment in which children are encouraged to be self-motivated, curious and confident in themselves and their work, and to take pride in their achievements.

In the Early Years programme, children develop their knowledge and understanding of the world. We work with them to open new opportunities to explore mathematical, creative and physical experiences. We help them to develop their communication skills and to explore their personal, social and emotional development.

We provide a nurturing and safe environment within which children can blossom as bright, independent young minds.

Year 1

Our Early Years Centre includes Year 1 of the Key Stage 1 phase. For Year 1 children, the focus shifts and learning divides into distinct subjects, mainly taught through cross-curricular topics.

By selecting the best elements which the National Curriculum for England has to offer, we ensure a smooth transition between each phase of  a child's education.

Our Year 1 classrooms are well-equipped to support the more formal nature of the curriculum. Classroom displays reflect and celebrate the children’s work. More information about the Year 1 curriculum is available under the Key Stage 1 section of the website.
