Welcome from Secondary

The continued growth and development of our school into the vibrant and thriving community it is today bears testament to the partnership that exists between our students and teachers.

School is not just a place to attend lessons and go home. It is so much more.  Our secondary school consists of students in Year 7 to Year 13, all of whom have a contribution to make to our community and beyond.

Teenagers develop their identities between the ages of 11 and 18. They experiment with fashion, hairstyles, writing styles, humour, friendships, music, technology and learn about the world in which they will become global citizens. At The British School Warsaw, we welcome and value student opinions and guide students towards informed choices in a secure and caring environment.

We encourage the development through classroom experiences of values, attitudes and attributes which will serve them in their daily lives outside school as well.

Our students are encouraged to seek out opportunities to present their own views and ideas clearly and concisely, through collaboration with their teachers and each other. Students are encouraged to evaluate their contributions and develop awareness of society as a whole, whilst respecting the differences and similarities between cultures.

Developing confidence in their knowledge, understanding and actions is a vital part of growing up, as is the moment they may recognise the need to change these beliefs in the light of new evidence. Our aim is to ensure that our students are creative, open minded, persevering and confident.

Students at The British School Warsaw enjoy many advantages. One of these is attending a school that belongs to Nord Anglia Education, a family of over 50 schools around the world. Nord Anglia's Global Campus is an online platform linking our students across continents and fostering the exchange of opinions and ideas to impact positively on learning outcomes. Our students are regularly encouraged to contribute to science, music, literature and charity projects through this unique platform.

Our IGCSE and IB results reflect the hard work and perseverance of both students and teachers, and we take special pride in our students' achievements as they continue their education at some of the world’s top universities. This year, five of our students have accepted places at Oxford and Cambridge universities, and others have offers from McGill, British Columbia, Durham, Imperial College, University College London, Bristol, Manchester, Warwick, The London School of Economics, and Edinburgh universities, to name but a few.

Our alumni work and study all over the world, and many stay in touch with us, visiting whenever they can.
