Year 6 Teacher

I’m hugely excited to be joining BISW this year and can’t wait for all the challenges and opportunities that working here will bring. I grew up in Essex and have spent the last six years teaching in London (having previously had a career in PR and marketing). I already know the USA a bit from being selected as a UK “digital pioneer teacher” by Discovery Education in 2016 and being flown out to Chicago for an amazing professional development week with over 200 American teachers. Since then I’ve been back to the US frequently, taking advantage of the enriching professional relationships that I formed in that one week. I’m passionate about the use of technology to enhance children’s learning and how this can be used to accelerate progress and form a deeper understanding of the world and society around us. The children will also soon learn that music is very important to me! In my spare time, I love to explore new places, often combining my love of history and music to seek out famous musical landmarks. I can’t wait to bring my ideas and prior experience of Year 5 and 6 to the BISW team.
