Head of Mathematics

Before joining BISW in August 2016, I  spent 6 years in a high attaining state school in Scotland, where I played a leading role in developing a new curriculum and driving our students towards excellent results at all levels of Mathematics. My time at BISW has given me a totally different outlook on learning and I’m thoroughly enjoying meeting different people, from different countries who have come from different backgrounds. I am passionate about getting the best out of every student and I believe building up excellent, positive relationships with students is the key to driving them forward. In my new role as Head of Mathematics, I’m looking build on the already fantastic work done by my predecessors and take the department to the next level. The ethos and ambitions of the school – particularly individualised learning – match mine and I look forward to help giving every student the best preparation possible for life beyond school.

Mathematics aside, my biggest passions in life are sport, music and travelling. I enjoy football (soccer – real football!), American football, baseball and tennis. I am a loyal Glasgow Rangers fan – the only team in Glasgow! My love of the Dallas Cowboys is also going down very well in D.C! I plan on visiting as many US states (34 and counting) and cities as possible during my time here.
