As IB Coordinator at the 'British International School of Washington', my main focus is to lead the educational development of our IB students and parents as they navigate through the varying and challenging components of the 2-year program. I am pleased to say that I have taught the IB since 2012, beginning within my role as a classroom teacher for English Language and Literature. Since then, I have worked closely with IB students as their head of year and coordinator of the core components of the IB: CAS, ToK and the EE. This role led to some life-changing experiences in Tanzania, as well as some experiences which instilled within me a desire to continue my journey as a learner with the completion of a Masters in International Education with Kings College London.
Within my current role as IB Coordinator, I am able to draw on this wealth of experience to facilitate successful and positive IB experiences for our IB student body. As an IB educator, I value many of the traits of the IB curriculum within my own career, endeavoring to lead by example by ensuring I act with integrity, respect and grow from my experiences.
Outside of work, I practice yoga to allow time for reflection and focus on cultivating positive experiences with friends and family. If you have any questions or queries regarding the IB program at BISW, please get in touch.
