Stacey Crump

Head of Lower Primary and Student Leadership; Year 2 Teacher

Stacey is a National Parks enthusiast who is passionate about exploring, learning about and protecting the Earth. She enjoys hiking, photography and playing sports in her spare time.

I grew up in Hertfordshire, England, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and then a Post Graduate degree in Primary Education in the same county. I am an Assistant Head of Primary and have taught at BISW since 2014. Each year has been full of learning, thinking, laughter, support and challenge.

Teaching at the British International School of Washington has opened my eyes to a wealth of exciting opportunities professionally and personally. I have had the opportunity to work and learn in a culturally rich environment daily, held various leadership roles in Upper Primary and Lower Primary,  enjoyed summer studies at Harvard and am now an active member of Project Zero DC (a DC based education group focused on making thinking visible).

Travelling, hiking and photography are among my favourite things to do, which has lead to me explore many of America’s National Parks where I earn Junior Ranger badges along the way! I am also an avid sports fan and playing soccer and football are among my favourite pastimes. I enjoy reading a variety of books and aspire to write a children’s book at some point in my life.
