The Dragon Effect: Pilar finding her voice through the Performing Arts Program

For Pilar Franjul, Performing Arts at Saint George has been a journey of creativity, discipline and the courage to take on new challenges.

Her journey began with dance in Grease, the very first Performing Arts production at Saint George. She later joined the cast of The Greatest Showman, continuing to explore theatre, music and dance while actively participating in school performances and Dominican cultural assemblies.

In 2025, Pilar reached an important milestone when she took on her first leading role as Belle in Beauty and the Beast. More recently, she embraced another challenge as one of the Genies in Aladdin Jr.

Each experience has pushed her in a different way. Pilar has stepped outside her comfort zone, faced fears and approached every new challenge with discipline and commitment. Along the way, she has also become someone who supports her fellow performers, helping them develop their characters and grow alongside her.

Her journey has extended beyond Saint George. At the Global Leaders Competition in London, Pilar helped bring El Chivo, an original student-created production, to an international stage, where the group received recognition for their performance.

Pilar’s story reminds us that Performing Arts is about much more than what happens on stage. It is about taking risks, discovering new strengths, supporting others and finding the courage to keep growing.

Because The Dragon Effect is not only about stepping into the spotlight. It is about who you become on your way there.
