Rita Bateson

Head of Secondary School, Head of Mathematics

Rita Bateson is the Head of Secondary School and Head of Mathematics at Nord Anglia School, Dublin. Prior to this, Mrs. Bateson held the position of Head of Mathematics at the International School of Hamburg. She is the author of the Mathematics for the MYP by Concept series, so is a curriculum expert (having literally written the books on it!) Before that, Mrs. Bateson worked at the IB as Senior Curriculum Manager, responsible for Mathematics and Sciences across the programmes. Having lived and breathed the International Baccalaureate for many years, she has also written her own IB Learner profile.

Mrs. Bateson is a true believer in the school’s vision of increasing every child’s life chances through wellbeing and service-learning based approaches.

In her free time, she enjoys reading and travelling; her favourite destinations include Japan, Jordan, and San Diego. She hails from Dublin and is a DCU and Trinity College graduate who has embraced her return home to Ireland with her family to join our school.
