Joanna Cooper

Head of English

Joanna Cooper is a highly experienced IB educator who previously worked in an IB World School in Central London for many years.

During this time, in her role as the IB Diploma Coordinator, Mrs. Cooper oversaw the authorisation and extremely effective implementation of the IB Diploma Programme. She is excited to be now setting up the IB Diploma Programme at NAIS Dublin, having seen first-hand the many benefits of the programme and the enormous capabilities with which it endows students--especially as they master the skills needed to be successful with 21st Century demands.

Mrs. Cooper is a graduate of University College Cork, where she achieved her BA in both English Literature and History, an MA in English Literature and also a Higher Diploma in Education. She is delighted to be returning to Ireland and to be living in Dublin for the first time with her husband and daughter.

At NAIS Dublin, Mrs. Cooper is the head of the English Language and Literature Department and is delighted to be using her skills to devise lessons that challenge students, and instill in them a lifelong passion for being active observers and analysers of the way that language and literature is used in all aspects of our lives.
