EARLY YEARS

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provides a play-based learning curriculum full of curiosity, wonder, and discovery—the perfect springboard into Primary education.

PRIMARY

Our Primary curriculum provides an exciting, stimulating, and adaptable approach to education which introduces students aged 5 to 11 years to a world of new subjects and concepts. These include numeracy and mathematical reasoning, learning to justify ideas with reasons, developing confidence to ask questions and building knowledge.

National Curriculum for England & IPC
Our students in Years 1–6 follow a perfect blend of English National Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum (IPC). This combination develops globally minded students with skill sets that will see them succeed into the next stages of their international education—through IGCSE and IBDP.

At The British School Warsaw, we make sure that our secondary students maintain their love of learning developed in earlier school years, as we introduce in them to new ideas and skills.  A continued emphasis on the importance of core skills in literacy, numeracy and science is coupled with an introduction to research and interpretation of knowledge and sources as we empower students to become independent learners and prepare them for the academic challenges of IGCSE and IBDP.

National Curriculum for England
In Key Stages 3 and 4, students study a wide range of academic subjects taught by specialist teachers, preparing them for their IGCSE examinations. During this exciting time, our students learn to apply knowledge and understanding to new and familiar situations, to enquire intellectually and develop cultural awareness as global citizens. Our dedicated teachers provide a personalised learning experience for every student to meet their needs, celebrate their strengths and grow their interests.

IB Diploma Programme

In Years 12 and 13, we offer the internationally recognised IB Diploma Programme. The skills and attributes developed through this programme are outstanding preparation for higher education and give our students the best opportunity to access the world’s top universities.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)
For over 20 years, TBS Warsaw has been an IB accredited school. The IBDP is an internationally recognised qualification, and a rigorous pre-university course of studies which aims to develop enquiring, driven, knowledgeable young people. Over the years a number of our students have achieved a perfect score of 45 points in the IB Diploma – a score representative of the top 1% of all students worldwide.

A warm welcome awaits from 8:30 as children enter their class and settle in for another exciting day of learning and fun.

Activities inside and outside the classroom, introduce early learners to maths, phonics, language literacy, and independent play. They’re encouraged to ask questions, and engage in dialogue with their teacher and their friends.

Enjoying lunch together in a wholesome family atmosphere -  learning continues naturally as children become familiar with sitting at the table, using their cutlery, pouring themselves a drink and serving food to others.

Arts and crafts, writing and creating stories and child-led play guided by their interests, fill the afternoon in our stimulating early years environment.  Our children try new activities, learn to take risks, and build lasting friendships with their peers.

After a full day of learning our youngest children are collected by their parents at 3:00. From Reception, children can take part in a variety of exciting extracurricular activities, which change termly.

At 8:15 am the day starts. Our teachers answer any questions as our primary students settle in and prepare for the day ahead.  It’s important that our students are relaxed and feel supported to share their ideas.

Specialist lessons and resources nurture creativity in our students.  Our collaboration with Juilliard means students enjoy weekly dance and music lessons whilst an engaging level-appropriate Polish programme, enables students to hone their language competence.
