Back to school with new energy - John Brett takes over the position of the Principal at The British School Warsaw

I began my career with Nord Anglia in Ho Chi Minh City, continued my journey to BIS Hanoi, and arrived in Warsaw two years ago.

As parents it can be so hard to know how best to help your child study and as students, sometimes it can be difficult to find the best way to learn.

At The British School Warsaw our children can make connections with thousands of others from around the world through Global Campus, Nord Anglia’s exclusive online learning platform, where students from schools around the world can learn and develop their problem-solving and creative thinking skills.

This Wednesday the year 4’s were thrilled to welcome parents back into the school and to share with them a Juilliard Creative Classroom project entitled, Our Site Has A Mystery.

As part of our IPC Exit Point, Year 5 students have been focusing on the Personal Learning Goals of Empathetic, Ethical and Respectful.

Today, children in Year 2 are preparing for their Exit Point which will take place on Thursday and Friday at The Invisible Exhibition.

Climate concerns and decline of different animal species vital to our eco-system have been central to global discussions over the years.

The Year 4, 5 and 6 children have been taking part in the Global Campus Visual Arts Competition during their Global Creativity lessons.

Monday was a great day in Primary as a showcase of our IPC Personal Learning Goals which underpin so much of our learning at TBS Warsaw. Following on from the successful launch of our PLG Superheroes last year, we had clear aims to develop the use of our PLGs further:

The children had lots of fun on Superhero Day earlier this week, coming to school dressed as their favourite superhero!

What could possibly be better that having a leisurely afternoon and a drink of, let’s say, orange juice while relaxing with a book? 

Last Thursday (7th April) we had our inaugural Open Mic Night and I am happy to say it was a resounding success!

Everywhere you look these days, you see children and adults staring at their mobile phones, whether sitting in a restaurant or walking on the street.

We know that many of our students in secondary school have access to mobile phones and recognise that there are many advantages to this.

Loving, stable and responsive relationships are fundamental to any child’s development.
