As one of our IB Diploma students, you will have access to our University Guidance Programme, which is designed to give you the best possible prospect of securing a place on your first-choice degree course, wherever that might be in the world. With a large number of students in our Years 10, 11, 12 and 13, we attract the attention and support of some of the finest universities in the world when they visit Thailand.
University Guidance Counsellor
The school has a University Guidance Councillor who, along with the rest of the IB team, helps guide students through the various application processes and offers support in terms of writing personal statements and motivational letters. From September 2015, our Counsellor will be devoted purely to university entrance matters - the only school on the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand to invest in that level and quality of support for students.
From January 2015, our Sixth Form students are able to draw on Nord Anglia Education's 'Thinking Futures' programme, which offers additional support and encouragement to the students who are applying for degree courses. For more information on the benefits of Thinking Futures, please contact our university Guidance Counsellor here.
Admissions Assessment Preparation
For those students who wish to apply to attend a degree programme at a North American university, we offer after-school SAT preparation classes in conjunction with Sky Academy. In addition, from next year, students who need to sit Biomedical Admissions Test (BMAT) or Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) as part of their application to certain UK universities will be able to sit the examinations here at Regents instead of having to travel to a centre in Bangkok - the only school on the Eastern Seaboard to offer its students that service.
University fairs and other events
Each year, Regents hosts at least one university fair for students based on the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand and many other smaller visits from visiting university admissions tutors - given the number of students we have in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13, universities visiting Bangkok are pleased to make the journey down to meet and advise our students.
We also escort our students to the large international university fair in Bangkok each November, where they are able to question admissions tutors and measure the relative merits of a large range of universities.
Our Sixth Form team also ensure that parents understand well the university application process which their sons and daughters will go through, by organising a presentation to parents each September.
