FAQ and Key:
What is a live lesson?
Your child’s teachers use the platform best suited to the lesson to connect, introduce concepts, clarify, collaborate, assess and provide feedback to the children. Teacher, parent, and pupil expectations have been shared in our protocols (see attachment).
What is extra connected time?
If your child has been identified as being in need of extra small group support, they will receive extra connected time with a Teacher Assistant in the area of their need.
If a teacher/parent identifies a child who needs support with independent learning skills, or would benefit from a well-being ‘check-in’, daily one to one ‘touch base’ calls are organised to boost children’s confidence and as an additional support network.
What is Discovery time?
Your child will have received a bag of resources that support their playful exploration of their curriculum. The items in the bag are for the children to use independently in their play as well as in the live Discovery bag lessons that are led by the class teacher.
What is ILD?
ILD is our interactive learning diary, it is an electronic journal, allowing parents and teachers to post observations, pictures, and videos of the children’s completed learning as well as their learning process.
What is show and tell?
Show and tell is a small group live learning opportunity that is focused on communication and language, children are encouraged to connect with their peers, ask questions, share objects of interest, and communicate with increasing confidence.
What if my child cannot complete the whole week?
If you need to prioritise the lessons, we suggest your child completes all live lessons and class work suggested by your teacher.
