How we're empowering our Northbridge Primary students through academic rigour

In the Primary section of Northbridge International School Cambodia we are steadfast in our commitment to providing the highest quality education for our students. As Head of Primary, I am thrilled to share with you our ongoing efforts to enhance academic rigor and support our students in achieving their maximum potential.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students is a top priority at Northbridge International School Cambodia, an esteemed international educational institution. We are deeply committed to maintaining a secure environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We recently held our annual IBDP Visual Arts exhibition here at Northbridge International School Cambodia. Grade 12 students displayed the work they have been diligently producing over the course of the diploma programme in the Auditorium.

In today's diverse and dynamic world, embracing inclusion and diversity in education is essential for nurturing student success and creating a supportive learning environment where every child can thrive. At Northbridge International School Cambodia, our Primary school is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity that celebrates each student's unique strengths and differences.

Recently, Northbridge International School Cambodia Grade 10 students presented the outcome of their learning journeys at the Middle Years Programme (MYP) Personal Project showcase event. The event is a significant marker in the education of all MYP students as they draw on the knowledge and skills gained throughout the five-year program with an eye on the next step in their journey - the Diploma Programme (DP).

Dance, an activity common to all cultures and as old as old can be, allows children at Northbridge International School Cambodia to simultaneously connect to a sense of unison and self-expression. 

This week has been an exciting week for those of us interested in mathematics education at Northbridge International School Cambodia. We were honored to host educators not only from neighboring schools but also from across international borders for the Southeast Asia Maths Conference featuring Liz Gibbs. 

During Primary education at Northbridge International School Cambodia, our students are beginning to form their identities and perceptions of the world, and the role of school counseling and Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Wellbeing (PSHE) education cannot be overstated. These two components play an important role in shaping the holistic social and emotional wellbeing of students whilst equipping them with essential life skills.

The world is changing, and so are educational philosophies at schools like Northbridge International School Cambodia. In the past (and in schools of lower quality today), schools were focused only on teaching knowledge and hard facts – trigonometry, electron shell configurations, important historical dates, etc., with the goal of passing standardized tests.
