Between they age of 2 and 5 years, children visit Lion Cubs, Pre-Nursery, then Nursery and finally Reception classes, which follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum with a focus on these seven areas of a child’s learning and development:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
In practice, this means that at Regents your child will enjoy challenging, educational, fun and creative activities that allow them to become an accomplished and independent learner in both our indoor and outdoor learning environments. They will play and explore, be active and creative, develop language skills and become culturally aware. Developing early social skills is of great importance and children are provided with exciting opportunities which encourage the development of positive relationships.
Whether they are learning to swim in the school pool, sitting with a teacher for story time, exploring the natural world in our garden, or eating lunch with their classmates, our youngest pupils are learning valuable social and academic skills.
