We welcome over 50 new students who start at our school this month, and we also extend an additional welcome to all other members of their families into our community. I know they will share my gratitude towards the members of our Community Group who put in so many efforts to look out for new families. The Coffee Morning and the Welcome Back Brunch combine to help all parents, whether new or not, to enjoy being part of the school community, getting to know people and contributing to the various events which take place.
The other group of people who return this week are, of course, the teaching staff. Term began a day early for them on Monday with a number of activities focussing on how we work together to make the learning at our school truly outstanding. As I have mentioned before, teachers have the greatest impact on students’ progress and our increasing investment in professional development is absolutely key.
Finally, on the subject of welcome backs, we should not forget the people who did not go anywhere! Each holiday is a busy time for our Admin and site staff, maintaining our facilities and putting things in place for the new term. We sincerely thank each of them for their contribution whilst so many others are enjoying holiday time.
One update to follow on from an announcement last term is the further installation of air purifiers which took place over the holiday. All classrooms in Building B now have air purifiers, as do a further 9 classrooms in Buildings C and D. The installation of air purifiers into the last few classrooms will continue in the coming weeks.
I wish each and every member of the school community a wonderful term and great success in Being The Best That You Can Be.
