On Tuesday Scott Beaumont, President of Google, Greater China, inspired our students and staff with ways to think about themselves, their futures and the world around them. Google looks at making the impossible possible and achieving this sustainably. Scott talked to the students about how this type of thinking makes life exciting and possibilities endless. He looked at what audaciousness can achieve and by seeking out interesting opportunities we become interesting people. Underlying Scott’s message was the need to work hard, dreams are not easily achieved, but achieving them is worthwhile; good grades open doors. Google looks for creativity, knowledge, the ability to lead, collaborate and cooperate; they want adaptable, smart thinkers. The fantastic thing is that these qualities can be fostered at any age and so our students can start to be those audacious, creative leaders right now and by combining this with hard work and developing their passions, they’ll have the qualities they need to succeed.
