Project Week Essentials

Project Week Information Evening gave parents and students an insight into the amazing trips our students from Years 6 to 12 will be experiencing in the last week of October. The event, held last night at the school, included guest speakers from the service/adventure companies who are running the trips, and who presented information and took questions about what students could expect to experience.

There was a good deal of excitement in the air at the prospect of students making a difference in the remote communities they will visit, which will include partner projects with local schools and community groups such as building classroom furniture, renovating playgrounds and helping to protect mangroves. Students will experience adventures as well, with each trip including exciting outdoor activities like kayaking, cycling, white-water rafting and hiking.

Of course, there is still some organisation before students depart on Monday 27th October for their five-day adventure. Here’s what needs to happen right now:

  1. Parents need to download, fill in, sign and return to form tutors the EV5 Medical and Consent Form here. Please do this by Wednesday 24th September to ensure the trip leaders have all the relevant information concerning your child.
  2. Passport day is next Wednesday 24th September. Parents are asked to send their child’s passport to school with them in the morning. The passports will be collected first thing and taken directly to the school office for the relevant pages to be photocopied. Passports will be kept securely for the day and returned to students during the last class of the day.
  3. Check your email next Tuesday 23rd September for information regarding itineraries and packing lists.
