It has been a really enjoyable week this week; one in which both myself and the Primary team have had a chance to speak with many of you about your children. At both of our Academic Review Evenings this week we received lots of positive comments about the year to date and how pleased you were with the progress your children have been making. It was also wonderful to get feedback from some of our newer parents who have recently joined us, about how much their children were enjoying being at our school.
We hope you found the evenings useful and received feedback from your child’s teachers about how they can further develop through the course of this academic year. We will of course continue to keep you informed about how your child is progressing through our end of term report as well as further Academic Review Evenings in term 2 and 3. Throughout the year you can also contact your child’s teachers at any time to discuss your child’s education.
Some of our Primary children were also fortunate to receive a visit from our Juilliard Curriculum Expert, Andrea Lee, this week. As you know Andrea has visited our school a number of times now and never fails to amaze and engage the students with her creativity and enthusiasm for music. In fact, our collaboration with Juilliard has seen an impact in our student’s skills, particularly in areas such as creativity, motivation, confidence and problem solving.
Next week we continue on the theme of creativity with our STEAM day. On Thursday, our students will come off-timetable for a day of inventing, investigating and creating through a number of activities led by their teachers. This will be our first taste of our collaboration with MIT which promises to excite and inspire our students in the coming months. Look out for reports on STEAM day next week.
Next week I will be joining my fellow colleagues from across Nord Anglia Education for our annual Senior Leadership Conference, therefore Mr Scrymgeour will be keeping you updated on all the fantastic things happening in the Primary school.
