Just blink and it’s gone! That’s what it feels like looking back on term 1. So much has happened but as they say, time flies when you are having fun. Looking back at some of the highlights, Sanya has to be one. What an amazing week we had surfing and undertaking service at the Bright Connection. Watch this space as we will begin fundraising to support the centre. As we approach the holiday the Christmas spirit is in full swing at school. Helping us getting in the mood for the festive season was the House Christmas tree competition. For a week each house had the opportunity to collect decorations. Then on Friday we had a surprise visit from the main man himself for the actual competition. Santa Claus opened the competition and the houses had to work collaboratively to decorate their tree. Points were offered for collaboration, presentation, number of decorations and overall display. Well done to the winners – De house.
Also last week was the Carol concert. I was delighted to see so many Year 9 students involved in the Senior Vocal Group with beautiful performances from Hannah, Caitlin, Jocelyn, Ceon, Zuzanna and Michaela. The group also sang at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Pudong a couple of weeks ago. Well done girls.
So wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas. Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing Christmas. Recharge the batteries and come back ready for more.
Merry Christmas

Year 9 Options
The options process is in full swing now. We have been researching skills and careers during our guidance lessons and will continue to do so after Christmas. I have managed to individually meet almost all our students now to discuss their preliminary choices. It is wonderful to hear how much thought is being put into the subjects been chosen. Those I have not managed to meet with yet, fear not, I will see you early in January. I know that several students have been engaging in conversations with teachers about subjects at both IGCSE and IB. Over the Christmas holiday it would be a perfect time to discuss this further with friends and family ready to come back in January to make final choices.
