This week we will have a Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar focus.

Our learning objectives covered will include:

  • To use capital letters, full stops and question marks
  • To use commas in a list
  • To use the present and past tense correctly
  • To use conjunctions to extend our sentences


This week in maths our focus will be Problem Solving.

Our learning objectives covered will include:

  • To show an understanding of place–value and counting
  • To use this knowledge to solve word problems
  • To solve addition and subtraction problems in different contexts


We will continue our topic ‘People of the Past’. History is one big story, filled with important people who did many great things - scientists, rulers, artist, writers, explorers. By learning about these people and what they did, we can find out more about the qualities that make someone great.

Our learning objectives covered will include:

  • To identify differences between their own lives and those of people who lived in the past
  • To find out aspects of the past from a range of sources
  • To find out about a recent explorer - Edmund Hilary
