  • To use expanded noun phrases and adjectives
  • To make simple additions and revisions and corrections to their own writing

This week in maths we will focus on Number and Place Value. Our learning objectives covered will include:

  • To partition numbers H.T.U.
  • To recognise odd and even numbers
  • To round numbers to the nearest 10 and 100
  • To compare and order numbers
  • To identify and complete number sequences

We will introduce our new topic - Water World. Water is important to all living things; without water there would be no life on Earth. We use water every day and depend on it to stay clean and healthy, just like the many plants and animals we share our world with. For this entry point, the children will be put into teams; these teams will be competing against each other to win ‘water droplets’. They will complete activities such as:

How many  different words and ideas can they think of that relate to water?

What water activities can the children think of, these might include brushing teeth, washing hands and face.

The children will also be introduced to a water diary which they will need to complete throughout the week.
