Next week in English, our focus will be to revisit the letters and sounds of the alphabet. The children will spend time working on their letter formation and begin to construct simple sentences by sounding and blending CVC and CCVC words. The children will write a simple recount about a tour of the school.

During Phonics lessons the children will recap and revisit phase two and three letter sounds.

The focus in Maths will be to count up to 100. The children will practise counting, reading and writing numbers in numerals. Activities will include writing numbers, ordering numbers, identifying numbers on a number square and sequencing and estimating numbers.

We are very excited to begin our first topic ‘Brainwave.’ The children will become Scientists and begin to explore and investigate the eight Personal Learning Goals. The Personal Learning Goals are Enquiry, Adaptability, Resilience, Morality, Communication, Thoughtfulness, Cooperation and Respect.

This will help the children to identify how they learn as individuals and the processes that are involved. There will be a special introduction from Professor Sparkes who will guide them through the unit. Each class will learn about the different learning spaces within and around school that help them to learn.
