Message from Secondary

At NAIS we have the highest expectations of our students and in an effort to promote collaboration, team-building and an ethos of positive community-spirit; we have begun with a focus on standards and expectations which will be maintained throughout the year.

In order to encourage our students to feel a sense of pride and unity in being part of the NAIS community we are paying particular attention to standards of dress and uniform. Having taken careful note of the uniform and dress code guidance in their Learning Journals, so far I am very happy to say that the students have been exceptionally well dressed, and really take pride in their appearance. Likewise, to engender a sense of personal responsibility for their environment, we are asking all students to ensure that they do not leave litter anywhere on the school campus. As caring members of the NAIS community we also expect staff and students to pick up litter if they see it and put it in the nearest bin. Another fresh focus for the start of the academic year has been face to face interaction; we believe that social and soft skills are a key factor in being a successful, collaborative student, so we are emphasising that students should be interacting with each other face to face rather than using mobile devices at break times and lunchtimes. We believe that having high expectations of students’ behaviour, uniform and school spirit all contributes to the rounded growth of collaborative, high achieving, caring young people who will be ready to really make a difference when they leave us for the world outside our community.
