Message from Primary

Dear Parents,

Wow! What a fantastic way to end the first half the term! In Early Years and Primary we have had a wonderful International Week and have been participating in lots of different activities, learning about a variety of countries and cultures. Throughout the Primary school each year group focused on a different continent and each class a country within that continent and today that culminated in an International Quiz around the school. Students had to explore all the different classrooms to find answers to questions such as: What bird is on the Mexican flag? What is a pipa? and What is the average rainfall of the Atacama desert? We should definitely have some geographical experts coming home this afternoon.

Yesterday, our students proudly represented their home countries, dressed in beautiful national dress or in their country’s colours. Whilst the whole school paraded in their countries, I thought it was very fitting that at the end of the parade, our Early Years students walked together around the Sports Hall, representing a multitude of different countries. It showed that our school truly is international and represented how we all come together each day to learn, regardless of where we come from.

Our students also experienced the amazing support and work of our parents yesterday with the International Food Fair. It was lovely seeing our students try a range of foods, some of which they had never seen or heard of before. They were also incredibly patriotic and were urging all of their peers and teachers to try the food from their own country.

Once we return from the holidays, we have a very busy second half of the term to look forward to, which will build up to Christmas! Christmas is something we very much look forward to in the Early Years and Primary so we are very excited about the Early Years and Infants performances that will be taking place towards the end of the term. After the holidays we also have our first Academic Review Evenings of the year and our Year 6 students will be going on Project Week. I think we might be needing this week’s break in order to prepare ourselves for all of these exciting events!

Wishing you a relaxing break with family and friends.
