Nursery Week Ahead Information

An overview of the week ahead in Nursery

  • Look what we're learning in Nursery

Information and Reminders

Drop off – We would greatly appreciate your support with dropping your child off to school between 8.30 - 8.45am at the latest; this way we can start our morning circle by 9am.

It is still very cold and sometimes rainy in Shanghai at the moment.  Please make sure your child comes to school every day wearing the correct Early Years winter uniform, and with appropriate layers to equip them for the playground. If they come to school wearing rubber boots, please make sure they have their normal black or grey school shoes to change in to when they arrive at school.

We are looking forward to our Pre-Nursery Pastries with Parents and Stay and Play Session this coming Tuesday. We will be in the Dining Hall from 8.15 where you will be able to share a breakfast with your child and then around 9am we will move into our PN1 setting where you can enjoy our activities and sing along session.

Overview of next week’s learning

As we begin our new topic next week of Fantasy and Real-life Heroes, the children be introduced to this theme through the story of Supertato by Sue Hendra. The children will be asked to defeat Supertato’s arch enemy the ‘Evil Peas’ through a series of challenges to set the other vegetables free.

The children will also be introduced to our new Talk4Write story, ‘Where’s Spot?’by Eric Hill and will enjoy the extension activity of hide and seek and through discussions talk about where Spot is found accurately using prepositional language.

We are also looking forward to having mums and dads join us at our Stay and Play session on Tuesday.
