Overview of next week’s learning

The children have been quite interested in mark making, which is the initial stage of learning to write. I will be providing more exciting opportunities for them to experiment with colours and marks. This includes not only pencils, markers and chalk but also stickers and glue. To strengthen our creativity and inspire design we will be adding glitter and sparkly bits to our drawings. We have started cutting and will be doing this regularly, under supervision.

We will be reading the Julia Donaldson story, “A squash and a squeeze”. Besides being a funny story involving farm animals, it lends itself to a portrayal of positional language such as in, out, and on top of. There are also fun activities including squeezing our dough disco balls.

We will be keeping a close eye on our seeds we planted too.
