Reception Week Ahead Information

03 三月 2017

An overview of the week ahead in Reception

  • Stay and Play in Reception

Information and Reminders

A kind reminder that every Friday in Reception we have a short Golden Time session whereby we celebrate the achievements of the children who have remained on the sunshine, rainbow or treasure chest. For our Golden Time, the children can bring in a toy from home. This is a valuable time to celebrate success and also develop communication and language skills. The children really express themselves when talking about something familiar to them and enjoy sharing these things with other children. Please ensure that nothing valuable is brought into the setting. We will ensure the toys return home on the day.

Please remember that the school uniform policy can be found in your child’s learning journal with a picture for your reference. We are continuing to monitor that uniforms are in line with school policy across the school so that there is consistency. Thank you in advance for your help with this.

Overview of Learning

There was much excitement this week at the discovery of a space ship that had crash landed in the outdoor provision. The children turned into detectives, investigating the mysterious parts of the space ship and examining all of the key evidence. Next week, we will continue to delve deeper into the mystery of this event and will become news reporters. The children will have the opportunity to practice their communication and language skills as they host their very own news bulletin and create recounts of the unfolding events taking place. We will keep you posted on Class Dojo if we spot anything unusual outside and hopefully we can solve the mystery of the crash landing once and for all!
