Message from Primary

Dear Parents,

Normality resumed this week with all of our students back at school – although we were treated to a glimpse of what the Year 4 residential entailed as part of Class 4A’s assembly yesterday. It looked like a lot of fun and I definitely wish I had been able to go!

Many of our Year Groups are currently finishing topics and starting their last topics of the school year and therefore it is a time of Exit Points and Entry Points here in the primary school. Year 4 enjoyed being archaeologists this week as they participated in their Entry Point for their new topic ‘Temples, tombs and treasures’. This is always an exciting topic for the children as they find out about the ancient Egyptians, including the Hieroglyphic Alphabet, Tomb Paintings and Symbols. Year 1 will also be finishing their topic ‘Our World’ soon with an Exit Point involving bottle rockets. I am very excited to see what that entails!

Earlier this week we hosted our first Donuts with Dads event and it was lovely to see so many of our Dads come along with their children and enjoy breakfast in the Hub. This was good practice for our upcoming event on Saturday, our annual Dads and Kids Campout. During the afternoon, our school field will turn into a camping ground for over 90 families who will get to enjoy a variety of games and activities, an outdoor movie, as well as tasty food to keep the energy levels up. Hopefully, the children will get so worn out that our Dads will be in for a peaceful night’s sleep – although I have a sneaking suspicion that the excitement of camping outside might prevent that from happening!

Next week, we give a warm and friendly NAIS Pudong welcome to our fellow FOBISIA Member Schools who will be travelling to Shanghai to participate in the Primary FOBISIA Games. We are incredibly proud to be hosting the event this year, and a lot of time and effort has gone into planning this 3-day event, which involves students participating in Athletics, Swimming, Football and T-Ball. Please look out for the daily updates on our Facebook page to find out how our home team is getting on. We wish them the very best of luck!

With best wishes,

Lisa Passante
