Overview of next week’s learning
Please remember to dress up as your favourite fairy tale character for Tuesday. It would be great if you could say a popular line from the story or sing a song from the fairy tale. Our focus fairy tale of the week is The Snow Queen, which Frozen is based on so we will be doing lots of fabulous Frozen crafts and songs. We will discover patterns as we snip into paper with scissors to make snowflakes. We will conduct science experiments with ice and make our own snow. We will also do some baking with marshmallows!
Listening and speaking are key areas of development that we constantly nurture and through our lovely fairy tales we aim to encourage these skills. By adding sound effects and music instruments as well as props and visual aids, children are drawn into a story and encouraged to recite some of the lines themselves, or predict "What happens next?".
