Overview of Learning

This week, we ended our “Little Red Hen” talk for writing unit by helping the Little Red Hen to bake her bread. We helped her to write instructions to make the bread and write a list of ingredients. We have been incredibly proud of the children’s writing throughout this unit and they worked very hard. Continuing with the theme of growth, next week will begin to look at nature and in particular, mini beasts. The children will have the opportunity to go on their very own mini beast hunt, read information books and examine life cycles. They have been fascinated with our silk worms and we are eagerly waiting for them to hatch out of their cocoons. In maths, we will look at sequencing our weekly events using “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” story for inspiration.
