World Class GCSE results yet again as NAIS Pudong students continue to celebrate academic success

  • igcse

We end what has been a fantastic week by celebrating the outstanding results of our GCSE students who sat their exams in June. A staggering 62% of entries achieved A* to A grades significantly outshining the results in the UK. 19 of our students amazingly achieved 8 or more A* to A grades in their portfolio of impressive results.

This truly highlights our academic profile in the city, as year after year, our students continue to outperform others. Be sure to check out our Facebook page to hear from our students what contributes to their success.

One key piece of advice came from Sarah Thornton, who herself achieved an impressive 10 A* to A grades. Sarah is a great advocate for work-life balance – she truly believes you can juggle the demands of academics and other interests and achieve great success. Managing her busy schedule, between Oxbridge Club and many of the sports teams on offer,  Sarah engages in all aspects of school life. She now enters the IB Academy as a principled well-balanced learner, knowing what success looks like and how to achieve it.

Sarah’s philosophy fits so well with our vision for the school. We believe in creating outstanding opportunities to enable young people to thrive now and in the future. Of course, this vision doesn’t just stay within our own student body. We also consider how we can enable young people, from very different circumstances to our own, to thrive in the future. At our Welcome Back Coffee Morning on Thursday morning, we were lucky to have our Regional Director Michael Embley pop in to visit us in our newly launched ChatterBox Café. Mike shared with us how this community-run fundraising initiative changes lives by supporting children who need life-saving operations. In only a few short days, the momentum has continued to grow, as students, parents and staff get behind this great community project. We look forward to seeing you there.

I also look forward to sharing more about the year ahead over the next few weeks at our annual Meet and Greet events. Next Thursday is Primary and Early Years Meet and Greet. Please do come along and find out about the many different learning opportunities taking place and get to know our staff over a glass of wine and nibbles.
