After arriving at M50 on Tuesday Morning, we were all allowed to explore the many alleyways that made up the district. Tucked away in the alleyways and arcades, a wide array of galleries and exhibitions displayed contemporary artworks of all types: paintings, photography, sculpture, and digital art were among many of the different pieces on display. We were all encouraged to take photos of anything that inspired us and we will be creating pieces of art based on our favourite works.
The talent of the many artists was evident in their works, and the variety of techniques and styles of the artists was captivating; every student was able to find an artist that they admired.
After a quick lunch in one of the quirky cafés that the district offers, we headed back to school to reflect on our excursion and to begin to research and experiment with the styles that we found most inspired us as students. Overall, it’s safe to say that all the students who participated returned to school full of new ideas to explore in our art classes.
