Talk – Dissecting the Napoleonic Code

Put forward as one of the few documents to have influenced the entire world, the Napoleonic Code is arguably the first modern legal code aimed at developing a legal framework for countries across Europe. It also influenced the laws of countries that were established after the Napoleonic Wars, including those in the Middle East.

Dissecting the Napoleonic Code is the title of a lecture to be given next Tuesday 27th January by Dr Richard Michaelis from OxBridge. The lecture will give our students in Years 11, 12 and 13 the opportunity to explore this phenomenon whilst also giving them an Oxbridge/Ivy League lecture experience.

Dr. Michaelis is OxBridge Executive Director and former Oxford and Princeton Professor of Modern French and European History for 15 years.

The event is also open to interested parents, so please feel free to attend.
